IMATS Sydney 2015

This past weekend I made the trip down to Sydney for IMATS (International Makeup Artist Trade Show). After an almost sleepless night on Friday I was somewhat tired but pumped and ready to go on Saturday morning. I met up with my friend Heather, who I have known since we were born. I bought less products than I thought I was going to buy but I feel like I am definitely going to always use these products!

We managed to get everything we wanted by 11am so we walked around the hall browsing through brands we hadn't really heard of and also nose-ied around the makeup museum. In the afternoon we headed up to the Northern suburbs on Sydney so I'll write all about that and the rest of my weekend in Sydney in my next blogpost, so be sure to be on the lookout for that!

Things I Want To Do This Winter

Inspired by Tanya Burr's "Things I Want to Do This Summer" I thought I would do a Winter version. I love setting myself goals and things to do so I want to try and do these things by the end of winter.

Read a book a month. So technically I should read at least 3 books this winter! When I was around 14 I used to read so many books and always read for at least half an hour before bed but now that I'm addicted to social media it takes me ages to finish a book. I've decided I'm going to turn my computer off by 10:30pm and read before I go to sleep. Reading always makes me calm down and helps me sleep better so I really want to get back into reading before bed this winter.

Keep active. I was really good with going to the gym at least 3 times a week when I lived in Brisbane and now that I'm back at my family home I had to cancel my gym membership because I'm an hours drive away. I'm thinking of joining one of the gyms here but want to give it a bit of time before I join so I can save some money and know my work roster.

Make plans with a friend at least once a week. I'm really bad with making plans with friends and can sometimes go weeks without seeing anyone other than my family! I really want to catch up with someone at least once a week so we can have great catch ups and have a break from my family.

Blog more! I've been seriously slacking on blogging these last few months and I miss it! I want to regular write posts and get into the blogging world more. I going to aim for one post a week so we'll see how that goes by the end of the season!

Find new makeup favourites. I've got a lot of amazing makeup products that I don't use often because I like to stick with my all time favourites. So I've decided I'm going to pull the stuff I haven't been using to the front of my makeup drawers and try to use them during winter. I used the Benefit They're Real Liner after about 3 months of not using it and I've forgotten how much I love it so hopefully I'll re-discover other forgotten products.

Make more Youtube/blogging friends. Hardly any of my friends understand the concept of the whole Youtube and blogging thing and don't like beauty stuff as much as I do so the only people I can really talk to about it are friends that I make online through Youtube, Blogging, Twitter and Instagram. And I've found most beauty girls aren't in Australia so it will be great to get to know people from all over the world!

Eat healthier! I've really been struggling with eating fruit, veggies and healthy foods lately and I really want to crack down and eat healthy foods. I want to try and get the healthy eating onto my family as well because I know that they know they aren't happy with what they're eating. I'm going to try and find lots of healthy recipes and try new foods, and coconut water!

I hope you enjoyed this post and comment below on things that you would like to do this Winter/Summer!

Review: Dior Les Parfums de l'Avenue Montaigne Perfume Set

On the way back from Vanuatu I went Duty Free shopping and the Dior Les Parfums de l'Avenue Montaigne Perfume Set immediately caught my eye. I've never bought anything from Dior before so it was the perfect opportunity since I saved about $20 because of duty free. I love buying minis because it gives you time to decide whether you actually like the product or not without paying for a full size.

Left-Right: Miss Dior Eau Du Parfum, Diorissimo Eau De Toilette, J'Adore Eau Du Parfum, Forever and Ever Dior Eau De Toilette, Dior Addict Eau Fraiche.

Miss Dior Eau Du Parfum
When I first smelt this one I wasn't too sure but once I started to wear it I actually really started to like it! It smells quite classy and flirty and definitely lasts a long time. The notes are Italian mandarin, jasmine, patchouli and musk.

When I first smelt this I thought "wow that is so fresh!". It's very floral with notes ylang ylang, jasmine and lily-of-the-valley, which is Christian Dior's lucky flower. It does smell different when you have it on but still really amazing and fresh.

This isn't my favourite because it smells quite mature and isn't what I look/smell for in a perfume. It has floral notes of ylang ylang, Damask Rose and Sambac Jasmine. I do really like the bottle except it's the only perfume out of the five that isn't a spray bottle, making it quite hard to apply it evenly.

This is my favourite out of the five by far! It has a top note of Freesia and also Indian Jasmine and Bulgarian rose. It just smells sweet enough to be not too over-powering and is very feminine. It lasts a really long time on especially for Australian weather which is good because it's so hard to find perfumes that last throughout the day.

This one is quite tangy but with some noticeable floral notes. It has notes of grapefruit, Calabrian bergamont and then floral notes of Freesia and Lily-of-the-Valley. It ends with some woody notes blended with a white musk, the most musk I could probably take in a perfume.

I'm sure I will definitely purchase a full size of one of these perfumes but I'm not sure yet. Have you tried any of these perfumes before? If so, which one is your favourite?

Makeup Wish List 2015

So it's safe to say I LOVE makeup! I'm forever wishing to go to America to experience what shopping for makeup is really like in Sephora and other heavenly looking makeup stores. Australia is very unfortunate on the makeup front because there are so many brands that aren't available here. My makeup wish list is forever growing but here are my current products on that list.

Australis AC On Tour Kit (Yes this is available in Australia but it's always sold out!)
